Hello everyone, my name is Aly Hicks and I’ll be teaching 5th grade this year as part of the Pioneer family! I currently live in Sacramento, where I was born and raised. I moved to Sonoma County in 2017 where I attended Sonoma State University and obtained my bachelor's degree in Political Science. It wasn’t until I moved back to Sacramento that I discovered the joy of teaching children. This is my first year teaching, and I’m so excited to do it here at Pioneer! When I am not working, I enjoy traveling, hiking, and spending time with my three dogs; Chandler, Phoebe, and Winston. I have always had a deep love for learning and school, and I look forward to sharing that with my students this year!

Ms. Webber
Hi there! My name is Jen Webber and I am once again the 5/6 combo teacher this year! In elementary school I wasin a 5/6 combo class myself, so I know how great they can be! I was born and raised in a little town called Windsor in Sonoma County, CA. I attended Sacramento State (go Hornets!) for my undergrad and went to UC Davis for my teaching credential. I also studied abroad at a university in Chile for a year, and I am bilingual in Spanish. I currently live in the Arden area with my partner and our two cats, Kobe and Korra. In my free time I love to read (especially science fiction & fantasy), dance, spend time with friends and family, and watch true crime documentaries. I’m so excited to be a Pioneer Panther and I can’t wait to share my love of learning with my students!

MEGAN BARR (6TH GRADE)

Ms. Barr
My name is Megan Barr, and this will be my 20th year in the classroom. I have also worked as an administrator, and also in a science museum, which was super cool. During non-work times, my husband, son, and I like to explore beaches, rivers, and lakes. We almost always take our dog, Bailey, with us. At home, I am enjoying reading, watching too much tv, and learning how to garden. Teaching is my passion and I look forward to meeting my students, creating a safe and welcoming classroom, and having some fun while learning. I believe in group work, focusing on *how* we know something, and celebrating successes. Stop by Room 23 and say hi!
