I’m Christine Ballesteros, and I am so excited to be teaching 2nd grade this year! This will be my 18th year in education. Nine of those years were spent right here at Pioneer teaching 1st grade, and most recently, I spent two years as a TR Math Instructional Coach. While I have experience teaching kindergarten through 4th grade, my heart has always belonged to the primary grades.

The Pioneer family has been with me through so many life milestones, including my wedding and having my children! My husband and I have three amazing kids. As a family, we love swimming, singing, dancing, and DJing together.

I am a lover of music and I bring that with me wherever I go. I am a Polynesian dancer and teach Hula and Tahitian dance in the evenings. I also love singing. I was a pervious choir director and have been a member of multiple choir and a capella choirs. You can often find me singing and playing calming music in my classroom. Fun fact: My favorite band of all time is the Backstreet Boys!

I run on chocolate, coffee, and Jamba Juice, and I have a soft spot for butterflies—which is why my classroom is The Butterfly Class! I can’t wait for a fantastic year ahead and I am so glad to be back home at Pioneer with all of you!

Christine Chellino

Christine Chellino

Hello, my name is Christine Chellino and I am so excited to be teaching second and third grade this year!

This is my 25th year of teaching and my sixth year at Pioneer.

As part of my teaching philosophy, I am a firm believer in teaching the whole child. Teaching students skills such as kindness, empathy, perseverance, and resilience are just as important as teaching them to read and write. I also believe that the connection between home and school are very important..

I love spending time at home with my family. In addition to our two fur babies, my husband and I have a beautiful daughter. She is an absolute joy. I am sure I will be sharing many stories about her throughout the year!

If you ever need to reach me please feel free to email me. I will do my best to answer any questions or concerns within 24 hours of receiving your email. Thank you for your cooperation and support. We are going to have a great year!
